WEEK 6 | CHICAGO AT MIAMI
GRANT MAKES DOLPHINS HISTORY
With his 70-yard punt return touchdown at the end of the first half, WR Jakeem Grant became the first player in Dolphins history to score via reception, kickoff return and punt return in the same season.
- Grant returned a kickoff 102 yards against Tennessee in the season opener and had a pair of touchdown receptions, including one for 52 yards, against Oakland in Week 3.
- Grant also becomes the second player in league history (Dante Hall, 2003) with a 100+ yard kickoff-return touchdown, 70+ yard punt-return touchdown and 50+ yard touchdown catch in a single season.
- The last NFL player to score all three ways in the same season was Kansas City WR Tyreek Hill in 2016.
ALONSO’S RED ZONE PICK
LB Kiko Alonso intercepted Bengals QB Andy Dalton on Cincinnati’s first offensive possession to negate a scoring opportunity in the red zone.
- It was Miami’s third interception in the red zone this season, good for most in the NFL.
- By forcing a turnover, the Dolphins’ defense ended Cincinnati’s league-best streak of 34 consecutive trips to the red zone that produced points. The Bengals had previously come away with points on each of their red zone appearances since Week 10 of the 2017 season.
- The pick was Alonso’s ninth of his career, which ties for the second-most among NFL linebackers since he entered the league in 2013.

TANNEHILL TO DRAKE OPENS THE SCORING
- RB Kenyan Drake caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from QB Ryan Tannehill to put the Dolphins on the board with 6:08 remaining in the second quarter.
- The score was Drake’s second receiving touchdown of his career and his second-longest career reception.
- Drake made his 36th consecutive appearance on Sunday, which is tied for the fifth-longest active streak among NFL running backs.
TAYLOR BLOCKS FIELD GOAL ATTEMPT
- DT Vincent Taylor blocked a 37-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter, marking the third blocked kick of his career.
- Miami now has 21 blocked kicks since Darren Rizzi was promoted to special teams coordinator in 2011, the second-most in the NFL during that time.
