DOLPHINS SELECT LB ANDREW VAN GINKEL IN FIFTH ROUND
- The Dolphins picked their second Wisconsin player in the 2019 NFL draft when they selected Van Ginkel at No. 151 overall. The Dolphins picked OL Michael Deiter in the third round (78th overall) on Friday.
- The last time the Dolphins selected two players from the same school in the same draft was 2013, when Miami took LB Jelani Jenkins (104th overall) and RB Mike Gillislee (164th overall) – both from Florida.
- Ironically, prior to this week, the last time the Dolphins selected a player from Wisconsin was in 2001 when they picked two Badgers – DB Jamar Fletcher (26th overall) and WR Chris Chambers (52nd overall).
- Van Ginkel became the 10th Badgers player selected by Miami in franchise history.

DOLPHINS SELECT PAIR OF RUNNING BACKS WITH CONSECUTIVE SEVENTH-ROUND PICKS
- The Dolphins held the 233rd and 234th overall picks and selected running backs with both of them – calling on Auburn RB Chandler Cox at No. 233 and Washington RB Myles Gaskin at No. 234.
- The last time Miami selected two running backs in the same draft was 2008, when they picked RB Jalen Parmele at No. 176 and RB Lex Hilliard at No. 204.
- Cox becomes the seventh player the Dolphins have ever selected from Auburn and first since 2006. That selection, ironically, was also the 233rd overall pick and was used on WR Devin Aromashodu.
- Cox is only the second Auburn running back ever drafted by Miami, joining RB Ronnie Brown who was picked second overall in 2005.
